In December and of course January I feel like change is in the air. With the New Year approaching, we start to reflect on the year. It may be time for a change of scenery. That doesn’t always mean making a big move it can be as simple as making changes to your daily routine. I’m a sucker for morning and night routines. It helps me feel like I have my life together even if its just a little bit. Building up a few good routines for the day can help you accomplish goals, create good habits, and create a feeling of control. But with anything in life routine can get boring, a friend once told me the story of a man who packed and ate a peanut butter sandwich at work for 30 years! Now that’s commitment.
A good way to find some inspiration to change your routine is to look on YouTube. There are so many people who go through their routine and will show you what they do everyday and how that impacts their life. It may sound boring but I actually find these videos really interesting.
Think about your goals when you are switching up your routine you can incorporate good habits into your everyday routine. For example if you want to start drinking more water make it a part of your morning routine to drink one cup of water before breakfast. You will be amazed how fast you can reach your goals when you make them part of a routine.
I’ve mentioned this in a previous post but change up your environment. Changing up your environment can help to remind you that you are also making changes to your routine. Changing a routine is like breaking bad habits you have to think about it and make a conscious effort to promote the change you want. If your having trouble just getting into a routine check out my My Morning Routine For a Successful Day and also my Spa Night Routine and A Well Spent Sunday. All of these feature some routines I try to stick with. I hope this helps if you are trying to implement some changes for the New Year. Let me know in the comments if you are planning to change your routine.
