As a 20 year old college student it can sometimes feel like my life is in shambles and I know my friends often feel the same. I often have really busy weeks that involve homework, work, my social life, and regular adult stuff. So in light of this I would like to share some information on how I try to get my life in order so that I can feel like I’m a bit more in control of things.
Get Rid of Your Stuff
One of the easiest ways to feel in control of your life is by getting rid of clutter and make sure everything has meaning. When you are in a clean clutter free space it can really help you accomplish more since you aren’t distracted by the little things.
Organize Your Finances
Create a budget or at least have a plan for where your money is going to go. Even if you are making very little money like myself, making sure your finances are organized so that you don’t miss a bill can help you relax.
Put Together Some Goals
Check out my post on goal setting for some motivation. Having a few goals in mind can really help you feel like your working towards something. It is also good to track how close you are to reaching your goal so you know you’re moving forward.
Find Time To Do Things You Enjoy
When I don’t have time to do the things I enjoy it can become easy for me to start feeling mentally tired. Working too much can lead to burn out and make you feel less motivated. Find time for your hobbies or even time to just be bored. It is good to be bored sometimes.
Use a Planner
Planners are great for making sure you aren’t forgetting to do stuff. It is also good for scheduling your time. This is a awesome tool when trying to get your life more organized.
