A feeling of being stuck is something most people experience at some point in their life. When you get into a routine and you feel like you are in a good spot in your life there may be a strange feeling of being stuck. You may have a good job, good group of friends, strong relationship, etc. but you wonder what more is there.
I think this comes back to two big ideas. One is being grateful and two is continuing to change.
Being grateful. I’ve talked about gratitude so much on this blog but I think it is so important. Especially when you are feeling stuck because I think when you ask yourself what more is there? You may not be looking at all the things you have. This is not true for everyone and I think there are some people who are grateful but still might feel stuck and that comes to my second point of continue to change.
I think a huge way to stop feeling stuck is to make big changes in your life! Maybe you set a big goal for yourself to get a certain job but now that you got it your not feeling instant happiness. That’s because that isn’t how happiness works. You must continue to set goals for yourself and explore new things and try new things in order to not feel stuck. I’ve heard that taking a vacation can help you feel unstuck. I think taking some time for yourself can help you think about what you need to do to make some major changes in your life.
Being comfortable will not help you in feeling unstuck. You have to keep getting out of your comfort zone and continue to challenge yourself. I hear a lot of people say they want to live in a big house, have a family, and have a good job which are some great goals! I just think to myself; “Ok then what?” Once you reach these big goals you then must make more! It never stops and happiness is found in the mist of challenging yourself. Change is often perceived as bad and scary and honestly sometimes it is but it is necessary. So don’t settle, don’t get too comfortable just continue to change all the time and be grateful along the way! I hope this helps anyone who may be stuck in a rut or needs some motivation.
