Why Organic Beauty Is Important to Me

I love organic beauty products I love to know that the things I am putting on my skin are not going to cause me harm. I like for my skin to be acne free after removing my make up.

After a very long journey to transitioning my beauty products to all organic I finally feel like I have succeeded. Today I finally threw away all my ‘just in case’ makeup and left myself with only products that are good for my skin and body. I also realized that everything from my hair care to my body soap are organic. Of course transitioning to a more organic(toxic-free) lifestyle is a long journey. I have found success in my beauty products so now I can focus on other area’s of my life where I am still allowing harmful toxins into my environment. I’ve discovered products that have very harmful chemicals in them that I wouldn’t have even thought of!

For example did you know that the chlorine in the bleaching process(of tampons) contains dioxin, which is an endocrine disruptor that can be linked to endometriosis or even cancer and the plastic in the applicator contains phthalates, which are also endocrine disruptors linked to health hazards.(http://www.teenvogue.com/story/organic-tampons) Pretty crazy right. There has also been Parabens found in breast cancer tissue. Parabens are often found in deodorant, shampoo, soaps, etc. I don’t expect everyone to completely change their life overnight and go non-toxic but I believe for myself it is extremely important to realize exactly what I am putting in and on my body and what effect that has on my health.

P.S- I appreciate all my readers for staying patient as I have not been posting as much recently because of school but I do have some great posts and things planned for this blog! I haven’t forgot about you guys!
